GAUGE DESIGN SCORES 2nd FUTURES TOUR WIN July 21st, 2002 - AVON, Conn. After many delays and suspensions due to severe weather received on Friday, the Lincoln FUTURES Golf Classic finally crowned a champion, second-year FUTURES Tour player Linda Ishii of Los Angeles, Calif. Ishii shot a 1-under-par 70 Sunday that included a key late-round birdie to win by a stroke and jump six spots on the money list.
Ishii, 25, finished with a 54-hole total of 5-under 208 at the Blue Fox Run Golf Course for her second win on the Futures Tour. She caught leader Michele Vinieratos with a birdie on the par-5 No. 17 and didn't look back. She made a 7-foot par putt on the final hole to ice the win.
"It was probably the best I putted all year long," Ishii said. "Hopefully this will continue. It's a big boost of confidence."
Ishii, a graduate from USC, was using the Gauge Design Golf GAA8 Center Shafted Mallet. We wish Linda continued success and want to thank her for using the Gauge Design Golf putter.
